Clarityne 10 mg is a tricyclic antihistamine designed to provide symptomatic and temporary relief of various allergic reactions. Its formula acts selectively on peripheral H1 receptors, minimizing drowsiness in most users.

Important Warnings and Precautions

1. Special Populations:

• Hepatic Impairment: Use with caution in cases of severe hepatic impairment. A lower starting dose (as indicated, on alternate days) is recommended.

• Children: Only administer to children under 6 years old under medical supervision. Safety and efficacy in children under 2 years of age have not been established.

2. Duration of Treatment:

• If symptoms persist or worsen after 7 days of treatment, the clinical situation should be evaluated and a doctor consulted.

3. Interactions and Laboratory Tests:

• Interactions: There may be an increase in the level and, therefore, in adverse reactions if taken together with $\text{CYP3A4}$ or $\text{CYP2D6}$ inhibitors.

• Skin Tests: It may cause a false negative in allergy skin tests. It is recommended to discontinue treatment at least 48 hours before performing such tests.

4. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

• Pregnancy: The use of Loratadine is not recommended during pregnancy, as the safety of its use has not been fully established.

• Breastfeeding: Loratadine and its active metabolite are excreted in breast milk; therefore, its administration is not recommended in nursing mothers.

5. Ability to Drive:

• Although clinical trials did not show a decrease in the ability to drive in most patients, it should be noted that very rarely some people experience drowsiness, which could affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
